Turek is a picturesque town in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, which captivates visitors with its historic charm and industrial heritage. Situated on the Folusz Canal, it serves as an excellent base from which to explore the charms of the Sieradz region.
The town, with a population of around 24,000, is known as the second-largest industrial centre in the Konin Lignite Basin. Although the ‘Adamów’ power station ceased operations in 2018, Turek remains a leader in the energy sector, with new gas-fired power station projects in the pipeline.
Tourists are drawn not only by the town’s industrial attractions, but also by its beautiful green spaces and excellent transport links. Major national roads run through Turek, making it easy to reach from all corners of Poland. Turek is a place where history meets modernity, and every corner of the town holds its own little secrets.
