Iwaniska is a picturesque town in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship that certainly deserves the attention of tourists. Situated on the River Koprzywianka, near the Świętokrzyskie Mountains, it offers not only beautiful scenery but also a rich history. The town was granted town status in 1403 and, after many ups and downs, regained its town charter in 2022.

In Iwaniska, it is well worth visiting the neo-Gothic parish church of St Catherine, which was built on the site of an earlier church. The town is also known for its war cemetery and old cemeteries, which serve as a reminder of the region’s turbulent history.

For lovers of active holidays, Iwaniska is an excellent base for hiking in the surrounding mountains. In nearby Ujazd, the ruins of Krzyżtopór Castle provide an additional attraction. Iwaniska is a place that combines the charm of a small town with a rich history, making it the perfect destination for a weekend break.
