Although the Polish mountains cover only 3.3% of the country’s area, they are an extremely attractive destination for tourists. Their geological and landscape diversity attracts nature lovers and active recreation enthusiasts. Along Poland’s southern border stretch mountain ranges, notable among them the Carpathians, the Sudetes, and the Świętokrzyskie Mountains.
The Carpathians, as young folded mountains, offer stunning views and numerous hiking trails, including the popular Tatra Mountains, the only place in Poland with fully developed high-altitude terrain. The Sudetes, on the other hand, are older, horst-shaped mountains known for the picturesque Karkonosze and Śnieżnik Massif. The Świętokrzyskie Mountains, although low, captivate with their unique charm and natural richness.
Each of these mountain ranges offers a variety of attractions, from hiking to climbing, as well as the opportunity to experience nature in its purest form.
