Babia Góra, also known as Diablak, is a majestic mountain massif in the Żywiec-Orava Beskids, reaching a height of 1,724 metres above sea level. It is the highest peak in the Western Beskids and the second-highest in Poland in terms of prominence, after Śnieżka. Owing to its natural and scenic beauty, Babia Góra has been recognised as the Queen of the Beskids and is protected as the Babia Góra National Park.

Tourism in the Babia Góra region is growing rapidly thanks to the numerous walking trails, including the Main Beskid Trail, which leads to the summit from various directions. It is worth mentioning the beautiful views from Diablak – from here, you can admire panoramic views of the Beskids, the Tatras and other mountain ranges.

In winter, Babia Góra attracts skiing enthusiasts, and its steep slopes offer an unforgettable experience. However, due to changeable weather and challenging conditions, visitors should exercise particular caution and seek guidance from the GOPR. There are also mountain huts in the region which provide accommodation and a place to rest after a day’s hiking.

Thanks to its rich flora and fauna, as well as its unique geological formations, Babia Góra is not only a place for active holidays, but also a natural treasure trove well worth exploring.
