The Crown of Polish Mountains is a unique tourism project encompassing the 28 highest peaks of individual mountain ranges in Poland. This initiative was presented in 1997 by Marek Więckowski and Wojciech Lewandowski in the magazine “Poznaj swoim kraj” (Discover Your Country). The Crown’s goal is not only to promote lesser-known mountains but also to encourage tourists to discover the rich natural, historical, and cultural richness of mountain regions.
Each of the 28 peaks, reached by marked hiking trails, presents a challenge for mountain hiking enthusiasts. Conquering the Crown of Polish Mountains can be achieved in any way possible – on foot, by bike, or by skis. Tourists have the opportunity to experience diverse landscapes, from the majestic Tatra Mountains to the picturesque Beskids and Sudetes, making each trip an unforgettable adventure.
The Polish Mountains Crown Conquerors Club, founded by the editorial team of “Poznaj swoim kraj,” organizes expeditions to specific peaks and offers discounts on accommodation for its members. By August 2017, the club had over 21,000 registered members, and the number of conquerors exceeded 4,130 in 2022. The Polish Mountains Crown is not only a challenge but also a way to actively spend time amidst Poland’s beautiful nature.
