Ochota is one of the most interesting districts of Warsaw, which attracts tourists with its history and variety of attractions. Located on the left-bank side of the city, it borders such districts as Mokotów or Śródmieście, which makes it an excellent starting point for exploring the capital.
The name “Ochota” derives from the inn, which was established in the 19th century, and the district itself has a rich history, dating back to the 13th century. It is worth seeing historic buildings here, such as the Lübecki Colony or the Filter Station Complex, which are a testimony to Warsaw’s architectural heritage.
For nature lovers, Ochota offers numerous parks, including Szczęśliwicki Park with a year-round ski slope and Pole Mokotowskie, ideal for walks or picnics. The district is also known for its cultural institutions, such as the Ochota Theatre or the Och-Theatre, which regularly organise interesting artistic events.
When visiting Ochota, it is also worth trying local delicacies in numerous cafes and restaurants that are teeming with life, especially in the vicinity of Narutowicz Square. This district is the perfect place to discover Warsaw from a slightly different perspective!
