Zdzieszowice is a charming town in the Opole Province, which attracts tourists with its unique atmosphere and rich history. Situated in a picturesque, agricultural and industrial area, it serves as an excellent base from which to explore the charms of Silesia. In Zdzieszowice, it is well worth visiting the 19th-century palace park, which is the perfect place for relaxing walks.
Although the town does not have a wealth of historical monuments, it does have some interesting places to visit, such as the church of St. St Anthony’s Church, built in 1937, and the mass grave of the Silesian insurgents. Zdzieszowice is also an excellent destination for sports enthusiasts, boasting a modern stadium, a sports hall and a swimming pool. In addition, local sports clubs offer a wide range of activities, from football to rock climbing.
One must not forget the unique ferry on the Oder, which is the only manually operated bottom-driven ferry in the province. Zdzieszowice is a place where history intertwines with modernity, and the local cultural events organised by the Municipal and Communal Cultural Centre attract both residents and tourists. It is a town with a soul, and certainly well worth a visit.
